Book of Psalms

It's been said that the Book of Psalms covers the mountain highs and valleys low in a believer's experiences with God. A believer can always find a psalm to express their thoughts and feelings. No wonder the Psalms is a favourite book of believers throughout the ages.
Its popularity aside, the Book of Psalms also raises some questions. How should we make sense of lament psalms that call for judgment upon enemies or accuse God of being harsh and uncaring? How are praise psalms relevant in a sin-broken world where there is pain and suffering? Is there such a thing as being too emotional before God?
The class will examine the different categories of psalms and study representative psalms of each category to derive biblical principles for daily living.
